The latest Tawny Frogmouth to grace our home, circa 2014
https://sharongreenaway.com/?s=Tawny For those people who liked my recent post about our Tawny friends, here is a link to my posts over the last few years as I record their time here while I am here.
Our lovely Tawny Frogmouths have returned to nest and bring up chick/s. Love seeing them every year!
Currently the resident Butcherbird family has increased to four and the parents are kept very busy caring for their two young chicks. The adults have been showing them places where there is shade and food (our front door step area) and water holes (buckets we have put out during this heatwave.) Watching the antics of these birds always puts a smile on my face. Hope you feel the same.
These lovely birds are quite tolerant of me and my camera, although I do not annoy them much. Fine art prints are available from me for purchase for all nature lovers
I loved capturing the birdlife in Cairns while we were on holidays last week. I marvel at all our birdlife.
We saw this pair here last year in August, however they are back here already. It is like they are part of the family…hope their young one survived.
The cockatoos and corellas and galahs that visit our home at this time are lovely, but can be seen also as being somewhat destructive.
I reckon the best thing about living where I live are the birds…there is always something to watch and listen to here…what do you love about where you live?
