Just put in a search on youtube for artisans of Bendigo and found this blast from the past. A story about the fashion show 2 years ago where I had my first venture into wearable photographic art! Also, the filming is in front of my work that was part of the Transient Landscape at the Visitor Info centre, Bendigo.
Mothers’ Day 2018
News from my studio 22nd April 2018.

Preparing for a meet the maker type of event at the recent Creative Conversation occasion held at the Bendigo Pottery I was reminded by hubby that Mothers’ Day was just around the corner. It was his suggestion to make a sign to this effect to pin onto my exhibit. Having done this and participated in this very well attended event I went home and realised I had indeed better get my skates on to prepare some lovely unique gifts for Mothers’ Day 2018.
So in between minding our gorgeous and very active grandson, I have managed to make some new work.
You can choose a fabric brooch, small zippered bag and/or a lovely handmade scarf for the Mum in your life.
I would like to acknowledge the tremendous support I receive from the Bendigo Visitor’s Information Centre, Bendigo Tramways and the Central Deborah Goldmine that all stock an extensive range of my Goldfields Floral Art creations.
For Mothers’ Day my local Post Office at Strathfieldsaye will also have a selection of handmade gifts available.
If you want something that is both handmade by a local and features our gorgeous native flora, then head into any of these venues to buy your mum a gift or two!
Warmest wishes,
Sharon

Mannequin torso making
If you are like me and enjoy the challenge of making something new you will understand my desire to create a torso to display my fabric art for installations etc.
Yesterday my hubby assisted me in making an upper torso using plaster of paris bandages. I didn’t think I would need assistance but am so glad he offered as the bandages do begin to set quite quickly. We ended up using 3 1/2 packs of bandages which meant what I thought would be a cost effective exercise wasn’t as much as I had hoped for (each pack costs around $9).
The model was my ever faithful Genevieve who kept still for the entire process ( a lot easier than if I had done it) and didn’t mind a little mess during the process but was easy to clean up.
Here is a quick stop motion video for you to see the process and end result which I am pleased with.
