Write unto art trail, Bendigo to Heathcote

I was at the launch of this trail, second year in the making.

Tremendous amount of work from all involved, lead by artist Mari Li Donni.

I have a WearableArt piece at the Heathcote Winery(yes it is for sale and can be taken on the day) as well as poem with Elaine van Dyk at another venue, and a third piece at the Farmers Arms, Junortoun.

Had only planned on photographing my own work when Mari asked me to photograph more, so here is a sample of the images.

Enjoy and make an attempt to visit one of more venues, map at the winery.

Winter eucalyptus

I was a bit saddened as well as joyful yesterday when I said goodbye to this beauty when it sold at the Australian native plant society annual show. I trust its new owner will get a lot of pleasure from wearing it.

This mixed fabric scarf was a challenge as I was combining the 100% cotton eucy patterned (own art work) with a lovely soft red wool jersey for the lining. Stretch and non stretch fabrics!

Got there in the end after some unpicking!

This eucalyptus flower was shot by Bill Greenaway and designed by me into a sumptuous pattern.

The cotton fabric would make a gorgeous garment, think dress or shirt.

If you would like to order 2 metres x 145 cm of this fabric which comes in two abutted panels and another for scarf or belts etc, depending on how you want to use it.

Self covered button scarf

For those who follow me on Instagram and Facebook you may remember a question I asked last week about a new scarf design…

The overall opinion was Style 1 was the better choice once I added self covered buttons.

This afternoon I covered those buttons and when adding it to the scarf I realised it was not big enough for style 1…so I have gone with style 2 but enabled it to look a little like style 1.

Have a look at the pics and let me know your thoughts.

Fabric is a combination of silk/cotton (my designed fabric) and a warm but lightweight Italian boiled wool.
