Further to my post about selling work at Bendigo Tourism Centre

I was asked to write a short piece of background  information on my photograms for the centre. I thought I would share it with you here as well.

Hand Coloured artwork by Sharon Greenaway.

Sharon creates black and white digital photograms of local flora which are printed onto thick photo paper. From here Sharon uses pastel pencils and other appropriate medium to hand colour each photogram thus creating an individual and unique piece.

Sharon’s interesting in creating imagery without using a camera began when she was studying Visual Art (Photography) at university around eight years ago. Working in the wet lab she loved creating photograms (which are also called shadowgrams) but knew she wanted to work in the digital field. So began her experimentation with using flatbed scanners to create images from subjects such as flowers. This interest has grown into a passion that further developed three years ago when she began using pastel pencils to colour in the flowers. Last year Sharon undertook an intense workshop held at the well regarded Goldstreet studios in Trentham in order to further develop her technique.

Sharon loves the additional tactile nature of this art form, enjoying the resultant subtle, impressionistic colours she achieves.

Kangaroo Island holiday Sept. 2016

We have been so busy lately that I have not had a chance to share one of the amazing things that we were privileged to witness while on Kangaroo Island.

The photo and caption tells it all.

Hope you enjoy!

My work is for sale at the Bendigo Visitor Information centre

I am delighted to announce that my hand coloured photograms have been accepted for sale in the Bendigo Visitor’s centre.

Each piece is individually hand coloured using pastels and other mediums. I really love making these art pieces and enjoy delving into this impressionist style of work.

There is a selection of framed and unframed pieces, each artwork is approx. 10 cm x 15 cm.

Here are some examples of work ready to be framed and/or packed.
