Central Victorians Remember 2015

For several years photographic artist Sharon Greenaway with her husband Bill Greenaway travelled the countryside recording WW1 War Memorials as photographs. During this time they met many interesting people at some venues, but often as not many memorials stood alone, often in country towns that were sparsely populated.

As the body of work grew, Sharon and Bill realised that they would never be able to get every memorial so decided then to concentrate on the local regions of City of Greater Bendigo, Loddon Shire and Mount Alexander Shire.

This collection of images was presented as a month long exhibition at the Goldfields Library Bendigo during April 2015 to commemorate ANZAC DAY.

The opening was attended by many interested persons and well known photojournalist Ms Julie Millowick gave a warm and informative speech prior to officially opening the exhibition.

Since the exhibition Sharon and Bill have given been asked to give talks to local service groups.

As well, the Loddon shire requested a copy of the images pertaining to their region and a request for the DVD was also sent to the Sutton Grange war memorial organisers.

A full copy of this DVD has been sent to the RSL Melbourne for their archives.

Should other interested persons like to get in touch, Sharon and Bill would be happy to discuss requests for guest speaking and/or copies of imagery.
