Viewpoint Gallery celebrated its 2nd Birthday with the opening of its inaugural Small Works Prize last night.
I have created and presented a 3 dimensional piece entitled:
Microcosm: Collection of Goldfields’ Treasure.

Every year this little Lesser Long Eared bat visits our front door area (well I am only guessing it is the same one!)
This year is the first time I have been able to photograph him/her without it flying off and wouldn’t you know it, it was on the night of returning from Ballarat after the theft of my great lens and speedlight flash, that I use for wildlife close-ups.
The bat stayed still while I shot lots of pics trying to get a good one, using totally inappropriate lenses, but this shot is not too bad. I am happy with it anyway!

Last night was Bump In time for our group as we met with Gary Morris of The Unicorn restaurant in Ballarat.
Our group is showing in the fringe festival of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
Our group enjoys playing and experimenting with light, using the art of photography in order to explore emotions and experience.
The environment, whether it is that of home or of further afield, is a strong and compelling influence. As such the imagery presented explores each artist’s individual interaction with their chosen environment.

On behalf of our group I would like to thank Gary for his hard work and thoroughness last night as he set about helping us all to hang our work. His enthusiasm for our work and the overall Biennale is to be commended.
