For several years I have been creating still life imagery from both native and exotic flora. Initially it was to do with my Imagining Mum series and the vases I had inherited from her.
It has since evolved to a love of painting with light and our natural world.
Each still life session needs planning as well as setting up the studio.
Yesterday was all about collecting flora from a friend and serendipitously getting lost thereby discovering a gorgeous red callistemon still in flower. The property owner kindly let me cut some.
After flower collecting it meant coming home and spending the next 6 hours setting up and shooting the still life imagery that I had in mind.
Today it is editing and I am pleased that I have a few images to use, having deleted at least half!
Later on I will scan some of these stunning flowers before attempting to dry them for future paper sculpture use or potpourri.
