New skirt for Christmas

I never thought I would see the day when I made myself a new skirt for Christmas.

In the past I have enjoyed looking for a new dress or something extra to add for Christmas day.

Last year we decorated our own t shirts on Jamie’s birthday.(25th!)

This year I thought why not sew a new skirt, which I could use over summer, using a pattern I have had for over 30 years!

And to choose a suitable summery fabric the most obvious choice for me was one of my own which feature spring and summer native flowers from where I live.

I have had a lot of positive interest in this design. For those who are unfamiliar with my work, this design features individual photographs of the local native flora.

I montage the individual images together to create a design I am happy with. Often this involves many hours of work before the final outcome is realised. The end file can be a massive one as I save it as a Tiff file.

The fabric is classic cotton which has a slight sheen to it, and also a very slight stretch which suited my skirt pattern that originally was used for stretch fabrics. The skirt has an elastic waist band so it is always comfortable and easy to wear.

So voila I finished it today and Bill kindly offered to photograph it and me in it.

This design is available to order from me should you wish to create your own creations.
