Winter hand sewing

I have been preparing four brooches for the upcoming Australian National Brooch Show 2018.

Featuring my continued work with the local native flora of the Goldfields, I decided to add a little more to each of them and have embroidered a little bit of ‘gold(colour)’ on them, referencing the European heritage to this region.

I have used cotton, linen, some silk, metal and thread to create these miniature works of art.

P.S. I enjoyed the challenge so much that I have hand embroidered another dozen brooches for the Bendigo Flower Show (native plants) and Elmore File Days.
