What to do with small fabric scraps

As I cut my art fabric for various projects, such as brooch making, apron making, art banners etc, inevitably there are small scraps left over.

For some time now I have been collecting these, keeping them in jars until I have enough for a pincushion or three.

The larger piece makes the cover, whereas the small threads and scraps are used for fill.

Here are examples.

Teacup pincushions, reusing old teacups and fabric scraps.

Culmination of months of work

Tomorrow will see the opening of a project I have facilitated since receiving a grant from the City of Greater Bendigo through its Create Lab project last November.

Working with fellow cancer survivors I have developed and facilitated a Polaroid style journalling diary for each person.

Tomorrow the project will be opened at the Gobbe’ Wellness Centre, Bendigo Health.

Simone Ledwidge from the centre will open the exhibition which will run for two weeks.

It is a project that I am very proud of.
