Sorting out filing system leads to a fortunate surprise.

Today I decided to sort out my filing cabinet and throw out an enormous pile of not-needed documents pertaining to my writing from years ago.

What I didn’t realise was what a surprising job it was going to be!

I have rediscovered stories I had forgotten about (some not half bad); writing tips that I must try to remember; articles that I have had published in long forgotten magazines; as well as dozens and dozens of the almost obligatory rejection letters and slips. Why oh why I have kept the latter all these years I don’t know.

One treasured find that I plan to rework is a children’s alphabet story in which I have written a dedication to my son at the front, dated 8th December 1998. Upon a quick read I think there may be hope there in getting it ready for publication.

Do wish me luck!
