‘Roots’

As part of 2014 Bendigo Festival of Cultures there is an art exhibition ‘Roots’ to be launched this Saturday at 10 a.m.

I have been involved in this venture in the role of art mentor to a 12 year old girl who was born in China but has made her home in Bendigo with her family for the last ten years.

Caitlyn and I got together and have produced a larger than life stamp album which is at its heart the best meaning of multi culturism.

I hope you can come to the opening this Saturday between 10 am and noon at Allans Walk Artspace, Bendigo.

You too will have the opportunity to be a part of this exhibition!

Butterfly clips

Buttefly clips

I’d like to thank the Facebook group stuff sharers (about to close) and Denni for the old fashioned buttefly clips. With these I was able to create a new image to go with my ongoing exploration of Imagining Mum.
One of my most vivid memories of me and mum was waiting for Dad to finish night shift…we would watch television together and I would brush mum’s hair before she put it into butterfly clips.
She always liked her hair to look nice and even though she was going to the hairdressers the next day, she wanted her freshly washed hair to look good for the trip into town.
