Bake, Eat, Love.

Bake, Eat, Love.

These words sum up Anneke Manning’s philosophy on life.

Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Anneke Manning, food editor, cooking teacher, home economist and author at local Strathfieldsaye business Edwards Greengrocer, Deli and cafe.

Mandy Edwards from Edwards first heard about Ms Manning after reading her book, Bake, Eat, Love and invited her to travel down from Sydney to meet the locals and inspire us in the time honoured skill and passion of baking.

Ms Manning is a firm believer in the value of home baked goods as well as the power of baking to bring people together.

She explained that baking is the one human activity where we use all our 5 senses. For me the sense of smell was recounted when she said this, I remembered the smell of an old Sunbeam Mixmaster I once bought at a garage sale. When I brought it home and turned it on, the smell of the grease used inside reminded me of my childhood baking with my mum.

Tomorrow morning people have the opportunity to pop along to Edwards and meet Anneke Manning and taste some of her freshly baked treats. In the afternoon she will conduct a baking demonstration.

For further information call into the shop at Wellington Way Strathfieldsaye tomorrow morning or go to www.bakeeatlove.com.au
