Alan Boromeo’s unique motor art…

‘In Loving Memory of Gwendoline Florence Boromeo (Mum). 25 July 1913 – 04 January 2011,’ says it all when one examines the latest artwork by well known Lockwood artist Alan Boromeo.
Alan Boromeo
Working in oils, Boromeo’s larger than life story of  living in a country town has been painstakingly re-created onto an old Mercedes car which he bought locally for a mere $200 (the car still runs as he drove it into its current exhibition place at Bill’s Shed, Lockwood.)
Bendigonians will delight in recognising many things synonymous with the town, including an embellished dragon parading down the main street.
The car is not yet finished as Boromeo has to wait for the oils to dry, which can take many months, before he gets the final gloss finish applied.
Alan BoromeoWhen you go along to see this unique piece of artwork, you may also be in luck and meet this quietly spoken and friendly artist.
