Early May this year my husband and two neighbours and myself boarded a steam train at Southern Cross Melbourne in order to travel to Geelong. The journey took around an hour and then we had some time for lunch before boarding a ferry, The Victoria Star, that would return us to Melbourne.
This journey lasted sevral hours and gave us time to unwind and ultimately give us a view of Melbourne not often seen.
Docklands wharf was busy with cargo being transported (not sure whether being loaded or unloaded onto awaiting ships).
I loved the symmetry of movement of the containers being lifted; the Captain’s personal view of movement on the water as he steered the ferry into harbour was his own unique art exhibition.
Lastly the Melbourne wheel turning with brightly lit buildings in its forround and shadows of people as they moved to their own Melbourne beat.
These were images I have never before seen of Melbourne.
