GROW Under The Southern Cross

New children’s anthology launched.

29th August 2008. The launch of the new children’s book, an anthology for 8-14 year olds, “GROW Under the Southern Cross” went well according to co editor Lyn Hurry. “About 50 people attended, and they seemed to enjoy the afternoon…lovely people from the preceding Uniting Church service assisted in our setting up, (for which I was very grateful). I was a bit too generous with my thank you vouchers for the entertainers, but the book received good exposure and Stephen Robinson was suitably congratulatory with his remarks prior to the officially launching. He has already offered GROW as a prize at a couple of eisteddfods.” The book features stories and poems covering many genres, and includes a CD that has selected stories and poems on it. Harvest Rain Theatre Company recorded the CD. The book has been published by Writerlynks, publishers of GROW magazine and thirteen other titles including Footlights, Promises, Classic Duos, Aussie Shorts. And why, do you ask, am I mentioning this seeing as I live in southern Australia? I was lucky enough to be one of the writers chosen to have a story in the anthology. My story “The Terrigan Terrors” is a netball story with a difference. It is written in a series of emails between ten-year-old Isabelle and her grandmother, who is away touring India.
