Geranium

Geranium 2017

I am currently working on designs for my fabric range.

The first steps to this are collecting suitable flora or researching flora and history of floral collecting.

I am reading about the Geranium (Pelargonium) at the moment and have been enjoying the coloured plates and line drawings from the 17th and 18th centuries in England. These plates have been reproduced in the book Geranium by Kasia Boddy, Reaktion Books 2013.

As such today I set up my studio so that I could create images inspired from these works.

With the help from my ever willing hubby Bill I was able to achieve some images that I am happy with.

Here is one that may or may not feature in fabric or it may stand alone as a fine art print.

Feel free to offer constructive feedback on this.
